Terms of service

These terms cover your use of forwardmodel.ai and of our models through our API and console (together, "the service"). The service is provided by Forward Model, Inc. ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

We develop AI models and make them available through an API. Each answer names the model version that produced it. We may add, update or retire model versions, and we will give notice in our documentation before retiring a version you use. The service is offered in the countries we support, which are listed when you sign up.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you sign up for an organization, you confirm you may bind it. Keep your account details accurate and your API keys secret: you are responsible for use made with your keys. If a key may have leaked, contact us at once.

3. Credits and payment

• The service is paid for in advance with prepaid credits. Each call to the API uses credits at the rates published in our documentation when the call is made.
• Prices are shown before tax. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, which sells the credits to you as our reseller and merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms, shown at checkout, and your receipt comes from Stripe.
• Automatic top-up is optional. If you turn it on, your payment method is charged the amount you choose whenever your balance falls below the level you set. You can turn it off at any time in the console.
• Refunds follow our refund policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service in breach of any law or regulation, or for anyone subject to sanctions, or from a country we do not support;
• try to copy, extract or reverse engineer our models, or use the service's outputs to develop or train a model that competes with ours;
• resell or share access to the service, other than inside your own product as these terms allow, without our written agreement;
• probe, overload or interfere with the service or its security, or get around rate limits or spending caps;
• use the service to create content that is unlawful, deceptive or harmful.

We may suspend or limit an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.

5. Your content

As between you and us, you own what you send to the service ("inputs") and what it returns to you ("outputs"). We use your inputs and outputs only to provide, secure and bill the service. We do not use your inputs to train our models. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long.

6. Outputs are not advice

Outputs are generated by AI models. They can be wrong or incomplete, and they are not professional advice of any kind, including financial, investment, legal or tax advice. You are responsible for how you use outputs and for any decision you make with them.

7. Our responsibility

We work to keep the service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

8. Ending

You can stop using the service at any time, and close your account by contacting us. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. What happens to unused credits is set out in our refund policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you that cannot be waived by contract.
